A visit goes by fast. A few minutes of preparation help you leave with answers instead of a list of things you meant to ask.
Before the visit
- Your questions, most important first. There may be time for only three or four.
- What changed since the last visit: new symptoms, other doctors' visits, tests, hospital stays.
- Your medications, with the dose and how often you take them, including vitamins and supplements, and any you stopped.
- Recent results from other doctors or labs, especially ones this doctor hasn't seen.
- Someone to come along, in person or on the phone, if you'd like help remembering.
During the visit
- Ask your most important question first.
- If something isn't clear, ask for it to be explained again, in plain words.
- Before you leave, repeat back the next steps: tests, changes, when to come back and whom to call.
After the visit
Write down what was said the same day, while you still remember it, and book what comes next. If family helps with your care, tell them what changed.
In Vitaclaris
Each doctor has a page with your open questions, the to-dos you share, what to bring and your current medications. Share my questions puts every open question on one page, each once, to share as a PDF or a doctor link. With everyone's consent, you can record the visit: the audio and its transcript stay on your iPhone. After the visit, note what the doctor said, add the next appointment and your to-dos in one step, and follow-ups remind you what's left, each with its due date. With Vitaclaris Plus, Claude prepares an agenda for the visit from your records, in English or Spanish, and can draft an update for your care circle.
